An Insight into the Launch of the First Issue of Sinus Persicus

Abstract

We are delighted to launch Sinus Persicus, an International Journal, with the main goal of this journal being to get feature in top-tier publications that cover the latest academic researches on the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz, the Persian Gulf islands, and the Gulf of Oman. Sinus Persicus is an international, peer-reviewed journal, publishing high-quality original researches on a range of topics.
It is noteworthy that the Persian Gulf has played a significant role not only in shaping the history of Iran but the people living in this land. This strategic water has been of immense interest for the people in the region, especially for cultural and economic exchanges with other land located as far as Zanzibar, China, and India from the shores, ports and islands of Persian Gulf like Bushehr and Delvar, Khamir and Gavater, Kharg and Kharku, Hengam and Najirom, Lavan and Mehrouban, Siraf and Siri, Greater and Lesser Tunb, and Abu Musa, among others. Not all routes but some could reach this beloved and strategic sea of Iranians, nevertheless northern and southern shores of the Persian Gulf and the Sea Oman are full of glorious Iranian cultural and civilization works.
Regarding the importance of this sea and its surrounding lands, the Tissaphernes Archaeological Research Group has decided to introduce some aspects of the Iranian culture and civilization from ancient era until today by publishing the academic journal i.e. Sinus Persicus (The Persian Gulf) in Persian and English languages for not only Iranian readers and researchers but for the global audience.
Sinus Persicus deals with archaeology, history, linguistics, religion, epigraphy, numismatics, and art of the Persian Gulf region, encompassing both prehistoric and historic periods. The journal’s geographic range spans the northern and southern coasts of the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz, the Persian Gulf islands, and the Gulf of Oman.
